Why Cerakote? (our experience)

Why Cerakote?

After 26 years of experience in the automotive, industrial and marine coatings industry, we’ve seen good products come and go. Back in the early 90’s we used Cerakote high temp exhaust coatings in automotive applications as well as small machinery parts. Little did we know, it was the tip of the iceberg paving the way for firearms and tight tolerance/high temp applications. We used other brands for gunsmithing applications, custom work, stock refinishing, etc. along the way. Some of the competitive products worked great and looked good for many applications but required too much masking and plugging, even after removing internal parts due to film thickness. They also, even today have tolerance issues, temperature failures, and all sorts of corrosion trapping and chemical breakdown problems.

So, years later, and deciding to go all in on firearms as a primary focus we needed something better. Cerakote has come a long way with more colors, and application specific coatings than anyone else. This was an easy decision, after roughly two years of experimenting with pattern work, bake cycles, substrate testing, compatibility tests, and prep methods. We decided to go to the factory where Cerakote is manufactured and become certified to apply all of their products! For a product to impress as much as Cerakote has, is rare. We have found it to be vastly superior if prepped, applied, and baked correctly. The improvements with color stability, product choices, durability, and even thinner film thickness are just a few of the superior benefits.

Vixen Tactical Mk1, Mk9, and Mk10 firearms receive cerakote as the primary and secondary protective coating.

We, and other top manufacturers trust CERAKOTE
We think you should too!
